Fat people can be picky too.

ROSS has good kitchen stuff for cheap, but everytime I see something I want, it's open. That probably doesn't matter, but something just feels wrong about buying a package that someone else already opened. The moral of this story is: I still haven't bought a salad spinner. And I need to so I can start buying the cheaper, uncut, unwashed lettuce. Because if there's one thing I hate, it's wet lettuce. The end.

I did buy a shower caddy though ($4.49), which I needed dreadfully because the shampoo falls off the ledge and crushes my big toe at least once per shower. Usually it's my belly knocking it off. Kickin' me when I'm down.

I bought some condiment bowls ($1.99) so I can have A-1 on my plate without worrying about it touching my side dishes and RUINING EVERYTHING.

Oh, and I bought a utility cart ($17.99) because I had this grand idea that I could walk to the grocery store if only I had a cart to bring stuff back home in. Now I got the cart. Time to find a new excuse.

Hey. If ever there was a good week to be in a coma:

Sigh.

Salad spinner? Shower caddy? Condiment bowls?

I think you're already in a coma and your fingers are just instinctively typing out random gibberish...

108!!!! Wow, that's like boiling! I like being warm .. but maybe not that warm!~ It does not get that hot here! Our usual summers temps are around 72 - 82.

You are so fun - I would hate it for you if that A1 sauce went everywhere. I feel the exact same way!

Well, you have south Texas beat, but not by much.

I love TJ Maxx for kitchen items, although I've gotten some great kitchen stuff at Ross as well.

I just loooove the condiment dishes! Seriously I need to get some though. I prefer my sauce on the side, thank you lol

I'm not sure I would even be able to move in that kind of weather, hot and dry is once thing, but that kind of heat. Intense. Sounds like a good excuse to me... However walking to the grocery store is a good idea. It was something that helped me. I was living in Boulder Colorado at the time, one of the freakiest fittest places in the country. I would hit up KIng Soopers late, less people, closer parking, but it wasn't too late that I couldn't use the self checkout. The lengths I went to...

The Safeway was .75 miles one way and took me almost a half an hour to get there. I would get a basket to keep myself limited to what I could carry. It worked, fruits and veggies weight a lot and their wasn't room for much else one they had been selected. It also helped me in some weird way to desensitize myself to crap food. If you are going to the grocery store 5 times a week suddenly those cupcakes aren't looking so tasty when you realize they have been there all week. Especially when there is no room in your bag.

Pardon the unsolicited advice, but it's a good idea you have there. After the heat passes though.

Ugh, I don't think I could function in that heat. SF, as you know, doesn't have the warmest summers, so just think of me having to put my thermals on for a bike ride last weekend (yes, really). I think all those things are very useful, got a salad spinner at a garage sale (I know, even worse than opened, but I have no job), and I have lots of those little bowls (I usually use them for cooking, to keep chopped ingredients separate until I use them. Some are garage saled, some are new. It's important to have the tools at hand that you need to be successful, in my opinion.

I hope it cools down, it's going to be hard going to the grocery store in that weather. I always go to the store by bike or walking. As did my parents, and they were in the suburbs, where it was unusual. It means I sometimes have to go once or twice a week, but often it's just one or two things that I need. This time of the year, however, I drive to the Farmer's Market, as I don't want my peaches/nectarines/cherries etc. bruised.

Holy Hell. WAY too effing hot to walk. Especially packing stuff.

Oh, totally feel you on the condiments touching other stuff on the plate. I hate that! Need to get me some snazzy condiment dishes.

Kudos on buying stuff. I want stuff. I may have to buy stuff...

That is fucking hot. I would die. I would want to just bite through my wrists and die. Only, my wrists would be soaked in sweat and my teeth thus wouldn't get a grip. And that would make me die.

I should get a salad spinner. But I'm the kind of person that, once I buy a kitchen gadget, I never use it. And what's wrong with A-1 on potatoes?

I love Ross for that kind of stuff. I'm with you though, if the box looks too torn up or like it has been opened several hundred times, fuggetaboutit! Condiment bowls, yay! I hope you'll post a pic of them in action.

Holy I would die with that weather.

I love kitchen items, I most of time buy them, use them once and they sit a drawer.
Your items sound great.

yay for shopping, of any kind. especially where you get useful items! Keep in the shade if you walk in that friggin volcano-weather!! Better yet maybe dont walk in it, sounds seriously dangerous!

Stash that utility cart away and don't even think about it until the oven has turned off!
I love Ross too. Ever tried Tuesday Morning? Favorite morning stroll shopping for useful but unnecessary items ever! 110 degrees????? Talk about Valley of Fire!
