This weekend really got away from me. I'm praying to the Gods of Pounds and Ounces to have mercy for my weigh-in this morning, but I never was much into faith-based healing, so I'm not holding my breath or anything.
I went to Angel's house for Girls' Night, which was essentially a night of eating junk dipped in chocolate fondue (where have you been all my life?), drinking an unladylike amount of booze and bitching about the men in our lives. But that's not all! There was also...
Annoying fucking cats!...
Inappropriately-titled foods no one would touch!...
Bracelet name-calling!...
Pictionary with a lot of dick drawings!...
MEGABED!...
Journey sing-alongs!...
The worst socks ever!...
And of course, pina coladas!
Stupid booze. I don't even like to drink. I take my alcohol like I take my coffee...resembling a liquified candy bar. I seriously can't drink unless it's a cup of sugar, so it's kinda pointless because it's not like there's ever enough booze in it to really get drunk and there seems to be just enough for me to want to wash it down with a bag of Chex Mix and brownies the size of my head. Shit is dumb.
To be honest, it could have been worse. I know I've soberly eaten way more junk at one time, but still...I was on a roll, and I fucked up. But I'm over it. Back on my shit today and looking to get rid of whatever fatness I picked up this weekend. I vowed a strict No-Candy Easter for myself and I plan on sticking to it.
At some point in the near future, I hope I'll be able to have my fun without eating it. There's always something going on and it's just gonna take some good ol' fashioned JUST SAY NO to get through all the bullshit occasions in my life. I'm glad I went out and I'm glad I had fun, but I think I could have had fun without the regrettable food decisions and maybe I was just looking for an excuse to eat crap.
Make it a good week, guys!

The Gods of Pounds and Ounces owe you this one. Sounds like a good time was had and it's not like you do this every weekend. Besides, you are sacrificing Easter candy - and that's tough this time of year.
Eventually you'll be able to have fun and JUST SAY NO at the same time. Of course this is coming from someone who always always always has butter on her popcorn at the movies. LOL
Looks like you all had a blast!
And for the worst socks? Uhm, I think I own those in black and pink. Oh dear.
Lol @ the pictionary drawings.
MMMhmm...I've had way too many drunken regrets, so I know the feeling.
Really? Dick Sponge Pudding? (races toward nearest garbage can to vomit)
Sometimes in life you just have to enjoy the moment...but only the moment...then gather yourself together again and move forward. Life happens...pina coladas happen....just not every day :) Glad you had a good time!
Megabeddddddd!!! Looks like it was a great night, and who doesn't need that once in a while? Don't worry about the weigh-in...as long as you get back on track, you'll be fine in the long run.
Sounds like you had fun. Girls nights are therapeautic. :) Sponge dick pudding...ewwww.
That girl's night looks like so much freakin fun! Wish I was there. Let's get this party started. Regrettably named food, indeed.
Don't sweat it. It was only one night. You're back on your game. What would life be like if you couldn't cut loose and have a little fun from time to time. It's not the celebrations that cause us to gain weight but the days between celebrations. The day to day stuff. So one day does not break ya. Several days in a row is a different story. :)
No biggie, like you said, just one fun-filled night. I don't know about it being as much fun without the food. Personally, I'm not there yet. Food = fun. I'm kind of sick that way too. :)
Your girl's night looks so fun! It sucks that you ate some stuff you regret, but you're already back on track, so that's good. And I like my alcohol and coffee exactly the same way, which is why I try to drink both very rarely.
Something that has helped me alot if the Beck diet. It is a workbook that helps you stop overeating by taking control of your thoughts.
Google "beck cognitive diet" and you will find it.
Girls night out and massive consumption of not-good-for-you crap seem to go hand in hand. This kind of reminds me of when I quit smoking and came thisclose to canceling my morning coffee ritual with my neighbor. It was hard at first, but it got easier as time went on and eventually she got tired of having to smoke outside and quit coming over. Wait, this was supposed to be encouraging. Sorry. :(
What I was trying to say is that it is totally possible for you to still do the things you enjoy doing without compromising your health. You give yourself rules and establish boundaries. Maybe you could start bringing some healthy snacks. There are a ton of cookbooks out there full of delicious, healthy appetizers.
My old neighbor and I stayed good friends, we just discovered that we weren't compatible for morning coffee anymore because she likes to smoke while enjoying her coffee and conversation and I couldn't do that anymore. If you find these particular women aren't compatible with your healthier lifestyle, you may have to find new people to go out with.
Hell it looks like you had some fun. Even though you stepped away from being on a roll, the key is just to jump right back into that shit.
I always have this mentality that says if I am going off the wagon for a treat I want it to be worth it...really fun. Hopefully that is what it was for you. You can't do it every time, you are right, saying no is a big part of the equation. It's all just a balance I guess.
I don't know where I was going with this comment. I guess I got lost somewhere along the way.
Strict weight loss regimens require pressure valves, which should be released periodically to avoid a major blow up. You needed this. No regrets, cuz if you look back at all the bad stuff you did, you'll turn into a pillar of salt & vin chips.
That sounds like SUCH a fun night!!! I want a girl's night!!
9 weight loss
What a fun night - loved the recap!!
why wasn't i invited?
sounds right up my street.
The cat looks like it's taking a dump. I'm new here, and I usually wouldn't say that on my first visit to a blog, but ummm, that can-O spotted D totally made me feel like I could.
Spotted Dick - Didn't Tracy Ullman do a skit on that?
I know some people who would have loved that stuff....
