Shut up and work...

30 more people got fired at my job today. Panic sets in and brings with it a bucket of fun-sized candy bars, minus the fun. To be fair, I only had 3, which is a far cry from days of yore when a whole bag trembled in fear when it saw my big ass pass by. Three I can deal with. I'm just stressed and everyone's all paranoid and annoying. "Say, did you hear about Ol' Whatserface?" "yeah, I heard...we all heard. Stop talking about it!" It's like working in some war-torn nation. Everyday you know there's gonna be another casualty, you just hope it's no one you know or care about. And of course you hope it's not you. Having no insurance would suck.

The 300s still remain elusive. I know I'm only one good colonic away from them but there's no point in cheating to get there. It'll happen soon enough. Eyes on the prize and all that business, you know?

Oh no :-( Sorry to hear that, that must be an awful place to be right now

at my last place of work we lived constantly under the threat of redundancy... and working in the pensions department we had to deal with all these people too... then they made the whole pensions department redundant - NICE!

I hope you'll be okay and that the axe won't fall on you, well done for not eating more bars... I know how moreish the damn things are!!!

Oh man, that sucks. I hope things start to calm down at work for you!!!
Hold on tight - and good job on not eating too many candies! I couldn't do that - the whole bag would be gone before someone had a chance to say, "Hey, could I have one..."

ugh...i so feel your pain (re job).

working in the Auto Industry, last fall was all about layoffs, now we are all overworked and wishing we'd be the ones who were let go!

it gets easier... there just comes a point where you get so desensitized by it.

Sorry to hear about the work stuff, it always stinks when stuff like that happens. Around my work isn't much better these days. Hope things go ok for you. Staying away from the candy is tough when the stress is through the roof. Hang in there.

Same here, Tricia. It is a tough time to be looking for a job. Hopefully you can hunker down and weather the lay-offs.

Wow, you should be stressed more often. Good job.

J/k, sorta.

Sucks that you feel like axe is going to swing your way any second.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Resumé updated and ready, steal six months worth of office supplies don't ever wear anything to the office that looks like something someone who was gonna get laid off would wear.

Hope that helps...

I'm back. Missed you. Keep the job. I think the Biggest loser before costume idea was brilliant. You rock my world. I was in Vegas but didn't have time to connect before I left. I'll be back in the spring.

Good luck with the job situation chica. Tough times for so many of us.
For some reason, that century mark is always a BITCH to get past! It took me longer to get out of the 1 to 3 lbs. short of being under 300 lb. range than it took me to lose 30 lbs. Go figure.
