I miss the Sopranos.

We had our first weigh-in yesterday for the Biggest Loser Challenge at work. I lost 2.8, which is good, but not as great as I was expecting. While most people would look at 2.8 as a respectable loss, it was my first week and I have over 200 pounds to lose, so I have to remember to look at the whole picture as opposed to wanting 2-digit losses like the people on TV. That being said, it definitely wasn't a picture-perfect week, but I don't wanna make excuses. There are at least 3 times that come to mind when I should have eaten better and I know I could have at least done SOME exercise, even if I do still have limited mobility.

Plus, at least now I know the 400.0 last week wasn't a fluke and I am for sure under 400 for now. And hopefully forever. I think I have the right mindset right now. I just hope I can make it last. Don't wanna get cocky because then I fall off my game and I end up back at Day One for the millionth time.

Home life has been stressful due to some rearranging of Jeff's work schedule. I think we just get along better when we're not around each other very much, which is a sad state of affairs when you're talking about your boyfriend. Not really sure how all this is going to pan out, but maybe it won't be as terrible as I'm thinking. I'm not really sure what I'm doing with my life at this point. I think it's easy when you're on a fast track to a cholesterol-related death to lose sight of where you actually wanna go with your life. When things start to fall into place, then you start wondering if the years are worth saving if you're just going to be miserable. Change begets change? Or maybe I'm all talk...who knows.

Man, this a depressing ass post. Does it help if I say I'm eating an orange that's the size of a baby's head? Like a fat James Gandolfini-style baby. A fat, italian baby. Obviously from the Jersey Shore, due to the skin color.

Yeah. Don't get cocky. Happens to me all the time. A big fat gain follows for sure.

I need to see this giant orange!

After you've peeled the skin of that Gandolfini-baby's head, take a picture of the skin and post it. It's weird, but now I want to it. (What's wrong with me?)

Great job on getting below 400. I also have to applaud you for doing the biggest loser competition at work. That would be a huge step outside of my comfort zone.

hang in there - you're making changes - that's what counts!

Way to go Tricia!!! I think you're doing just fine. Slow and sure wins the race. My average during my journey was like a lb a week so you'll get there just keep eating baby head oranges and you'll be fine *smile*.

2.8 is a good loss, no matter what! You know where you went wrong, this week you can fix it and see that double digit drop! Congrats for falling below 400!

Since you won't do it, I hereby grant you permission to embrace the 3 pound loss and entry into the 300's, which is fucking great. At this rate, you'd lose the 200 in less than a year.

And give the other stuff time to sort out.

Congratulations on a losing week - you are headed in the right direction and changes are happening! Great job, Tricia!

That's great news. If you want to talk about depressing, I used to go to Weight Watchers and I'd lose .2. Yes, two tenths of one pound. Insane. If you lost three pounds each week, after a year you'd be down over 150 pounds and that would be a whole new life for you, so don't denigrate that three pounds!

I think your weight loss is wonderful! Think of it as 2.8 pounds closer to your goal.

I love watching the Biggest Loser but perhaps it gives us an unrealistic picture of weight loss. Double digit losses are unusual. When you consider that the people we watch on TV spend almost their entire waking hours torturing themselves, or being tortured by their trainers, it's no wonder they lose so much each week.

But we are real people, leading real lives and we cannot give 24 hours a day to losing weight. We can follow our eating plans and exercise, but we still have to deal with the mundane things in life like cleaning, working at our jobs and our relationships.

You are doing wonderfully well and instead of the Biggest Loser, perhaps we should think of ourselves as the Biggest Winners! Good luck on your journey, you are certainly headed in the right direction!

Great job on losing weight asshole! Quit being all "well I could have" no one wants to hear that shit!

And your sister in law is making me want to have a stroke, that is all.

Good job on the loss! You also have to remember that when people are losing massive amounts of weight at once, it means they're losing muscle along with fat. Sure, you can get it back later, but I'm just saying it's not a bad thing to lose slowly as long as it's consistent.
